Person to person transfer of certificates in DOP Finacle

  • In DOP we can transfer the certificates (NSC and KVP) from one person to another person.
  • As per the SB oder 05/2014 point numbers (xi) and (xii) we can transfer the certificates both KVP and NSC from one person to another person in DOP Finacle.
  • Certificates can be transferred only once from date of issue to date of maturity.
  • At the time of transfer of certificates from one person to another, old certificates will not be discharged, Name of the holder shall be rounded and name of the new holder shall be written on the old certificate and purhcase application(in case of non CBS post offices) under dated signatures of the authorized postmaster with his designation stamp and date stamp of post office.
  • Generally in DOP we will transfer the certificates from one person to another person when invester is offering the certificates as gift or in case of deceased depositor(investor) and the nominee willing to continue the certificates.
  • The procedure for transferring the certificates from one person to another person is mentioned below
  1. In DOP Finacle CIF is to be created for the new customers.(Use menu CCRC)
  2. Before creating a new CIF, a de-dupe check has to be made for checking about the existence of the customer.(use the menu CDEDUP)
  3. New CIF is to be created to the new customer whose name is going to be added or in whose name certifcates are going to be transferred.
  4. New CIF is to be attached with the existing accounts created against certificates.This is required to be done for each certificate.( use the menu HCCA i.e., merging the CIF).
  5. On the physical certificate, name of the old certicate has to be rounded and name of the new customer to be added uner dated signature of Supervisor.
  6. In case of Single to Joint, name of the new customer is to be added on the existing certifcates.

Procedure to attach the CIF for the existing accounts against certificates

  • In order to attach the CIF for the existing accounts use the menu HCCA
  • HCCA stands for Change CIF Id ofA/c ( Merging the CIF id)
  • Invoke the menu HCCA then the system will display the below screen



Then slect the function as "Modify" as shown in the figure and enter the account number as shown in the figure


Then click on GO then the system will display the below mentioned screen and do the changes as mentioned below
In new CIF ID column system will show old CIF id remove it and enter new CIF ID
Select Modify A/c Name as "YES"
Select Reason code from the searcher as T(T-Transfer of certificates)  as shown



Then click on Submit and verify in the supervisor using the same menu HCCA.

Signature viewing menu in DOP Finacle


  • In DOP Finacle we can check the signature and photograph of the customer for an account.
  • Signature and photograph can be viewed by using the menu IES 
  • The detailed procedure for viewing the signature and photograph is diplayed below.

IES means Inquire on Signatures

  • Invoke the menu IES and the system will show the following screen shot



Then the system will show the number of fields as explained below in detailed

Account Maintenance Lien and Freeze in DOP Finacle

Lien Maintenance in DOP Finacle

What is Lien?

  • Lien is a form of security interest granted over an item of property to secure the payment of debt i.e., to secure the deposit amount in a particular account.
  • Lien in simple terminology can be termed as placing a hold or blocking certain amount in an account.
  • Lien can be partial or full depending on the usage.
  • There are two types of Lien in general they are System Lien and User Lien.
  • In DOP Finacle the menu option to mark or remove the Lien is HALM

Scenario:- Lien in general comes into the picture in DOP Scenario when the customer want to take the loan in RD or PPF account for a defined or predefined period.

Steps to be followed for marking and removing the Lien on an account.

Marking a Lien:-


HALM(Stands for Account Lien Maintenance)
  • Invoke the menu HALM in the system then select the following
  • Select the function as "ADD"
  • Enter the account number
  • Select the module type as "User Defined" as shown below


Then click on Go then the system will ask to enter the following
  • New Lien amount
  • From effective date(optional)
  • Expiry date (optional) 
  • Lien Reason  as shown

Then click on Submit then system will display the message Lien created successfully.

After creation of Lien, the Lien amount for a particular amount will be displayed in the menu HACCBAL as shown below



Removing\Revoking the Lien:-

  • Invoke the menu HALM then select the following as mentioned.
  • Select the function as "Modify"
  • Enter the account number
  • Select the module type as "User Defined" as shown below


Then click on Go then the system will ask to modify the Lien amount make the amount as Zero as shown in the below figure


Then click on Submit then system will display the lien amount revoked successfully.

Freezing of an account:-

  • Freezing means restricting an account to perform the transactions.
  • A frozen account doesn't allow any transaction.
  • Freezing can be credit/debit or both for a particular account.
  • The menu option for freezing of an account is HAFSM.

Scenario:-

      When a customer applies for a loan against NSC/KVP in a bank then the bank applies pledging of NSC/KVP accounts in Post Office.While entering the pledge in the 

Procedure for Freeze\Unfreeze of an account:-

HAFSM:-(Stands for Account Freeze Status Maintenance)
  • Invoke the menu HAFSM select the following
  •  select the function as "Freeze
  •  give the account number and 
  • select the freeze code as either total freeze or credit only or debit only depending on the usage

Then click on Go then the system will ask to enter the following
  • Select the account id by selecting the check box as shown
  • Select the freeze code
  • Select the freeze reason from the list as shown


Then click on submit then the system will display the message account freeze done successfully.
The same can be inquired in account balance menu.
